Who Am I?
As a Social Studies educator, I have spent the last several years preparing students to be productive and informed members of our global community. Because of my background in history, and my endorsement and experiences in political science, I challenge my students to look at problems others are facing and use their prior knowledge to come up with a practical solution to complex problems.
Because I strongly believe that we have an obligation to better our community, I became involved in community organizations in my hometown of Butte, MT. I served as a member of the Butte Rescue Mission Board of Directors, helping to provide a permanent solution to homelessness. Alongside my students, I organized a District Judge candidate forum, allowing members of the public to be informed and educated voters. I was the chairman of a committee tasked with the Shamrock Shindig, the major fundraiser for a political organization in Butte. I worked with a handful of candidates for local office developing a strategy for running a successful campaign. My In 2018, I moved to Manama, Bahrain. While in Bahrain, I began to realize just how strong my desire to serve truly is. While I love being a teacher, I believe my skills in political science and community organization could be better utilized in government. I would love to schedule a time to further discuss my skills and how we could work together. |
